Hello, my name is Sheena Marie (aka @spaceplatecreate) a creative professional and foodie living in Los Angeles. I've lived in LA for 2.5 years now and what I love the most about LA is that it's a melting pot of many cultures and every neighborhood has its own unique feel. Follow me as I show you some of my favorite places and spaces around town! Trust me, you'll be hungry after seeing some of my favorite dishes from my go-to eateries.
1. FRESH
Larchmont Farmer's Market
On Sunday's, I love to go to the Larchmont Farmer's Market and shop for fresh produce and support the local California farmer's. Three bags of produce for $5 is a deal you just can't resist!
2. VIEWS
Culver City Stairs
Step up your game at the Culver City stairs and clear your mind once you reach the top with an award-worthy view of the city, from the Hollywood hills to DTLA.
3. TREAT YOURSELF
Dry Bar
I love dropping in for a quick blowout blow out from Dry Bar in the west LA neighborhood of Brentwood! They always have me in and out in an hour. And for $45 who can resist?!
4. PHONOMENAL
Nong La
On a "chilly" night in LA (anything below 60F is chilly), there's nothing better than a hot bowl of chicken pho from Nong La. I've been hooked on Pho since I moved to LA.
5. SWEET TOOTH
The Milk Shop
In the mood for something sweet? Experience the best of both worlds with red velvet cake ice cream from The Milk Shop.
6. BRUNCH
Tart Restaurant
Enjoy a sweet and savory brunch at Tart Restaurant. I suggest the chicken and waffles and one of their delicious Bellinis!
7. BRAZILIAN
WOOD SPOON
Head downtown and go international at the Brazilian eatery, Wood Spoon! I discovered this one day while taking a stroll downtown. I loved everything about this place, from the mismatched plates to the yucca fries and lamb chops! Oh and you must try the sangria is amazing !
8. FRENCH
Le Petite Jardin
Enjoy brunch and stop and smell the roses at this cute French cafe / florist, Le Petit Jardin, in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood.
9. THROWBACK FEELS
Highland Park Bowl
This just might be LA's best kept secret! (Well..not for long). This restored 1920s bowling alley not only gives you all the vintage feels but has some of the best wood-fired pizza I've had in town.
10. WEST COAST CLASSIC
Pacific Coast Highway
Every now and then when I need to clear my head, I take a drive up California's infamous PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) to take in the breathtaking ocean views on the way to Zumba Beach in Malibu.
11. BEACHFRONT SHOPPING
Malibu Village
If you have time to head up to Malibu, make sure to take a stroll through Malibu Village to do some shopping and stop and say hello friendly to the friend pups who are always hanging around. If you're wondering what those beautiful fuchsia flowers are growing on trees all over LA, they're called Bougainvilleas.
12. NFL IN LA
The Coliseum
For years LA fans have awaited the return of their beloved Rams! Take in a game at the Los Angeles Coliseum, former Olympic stadium and home to the Rams and USC Trojans. And of course no game is complete without a trip to concessions for a foot-long hotdog.
13. MATHEMATICALLY DELICIOUS
COFFEE PLUS FOOD
For the mother of all avocado toasts, head to Coffee + Food, in Larchmont Village. P.S. their latte's are delicious too!
