Hi there, my name is Grace Huang (aka @gracehuang94) and am currently living in Portland, Oregon and I love to travel, explore, cook, bake and eat great food, which is why I love Portland so much. Portland has a great community that embraces everything and everyone, as a result there is a great food culture. I feel as those who are passionate about nature and food comes to live in Portland which explains why one can basically talk to anyone while they wait in line for half an hour for weekend brunch. Why does it matter whether or not you have to wait half an hour to eat when you know you will have great company and great food.
1. BRUNCH
Jam on Hawthorne
One of my all time favorite places for brunch is definitely Jam on Hawthorne. They are willing to accommodate many different diets and they also have amazing pumpkin pancakes!
2. VIEWS
Portland Bridges
On my spare time I love biking around Portland because the neighborhoods are so different. I especially like biking on the bridges and the waterfront during sunrise and sunset. This one's the Interstate Bridge, and it's a little controversial - there have been efforts to replace it for decades!
3. MILK TEA & BANH MI
Fat Straws Bubble Tea Co.
My favorite tea shop to study at and to catch up with friends is definitely at Fat Straw. Not only is it a cute spot but also they have great milk tea and the best banh mi in town.
4. EGGCELLENT
Pho Hung
Pho Hung, although known for its pho, the true hidden gem is actually their bahn xeo. Its almost like a light crispy omelette filled with vegetables and much like pho, you can add basil to it.
5. HEALTHY
Prasad
The best hearty salads can be found at Prasad. The one with seaweed and kimchee is definitely my favorite. For one of those days when you feel like splurging on a salad.
6. BIBIMBAP
Kim Jong Grillin'
Bibimbox, basically happiness in a box and what I day dream about when I'm hungry.
7. SWEET TOOTH
Salt and Straw
Rain or shine, there is always time for some ice cream from Salt and Straw. The lines may be long but thats why you ask your friends out and just chat with them while waiting.
8. ETHIOPIAN
Abyssinian Kitchen

The family style platter is by far one of the best meals I've had in Portland. Not only can you use food, the injera, as a eating utensil but also the eating experience just becomes so much more communal.
9. CATALONIAN WITH A TWIST
Chesa
Chesa had my favorite dish during the night market at Feast Portland. Great food, great chefs, great event.
10. RUSSIAN
Roman Russian Market
My favorite market in Portland is definitely the Roman Russian Market, especially their herring under fur goat and many other snacks hidden by their bakery.
11. UKRANIAN
Kachka
Happiness in a bite is the only way to describe the pan-fried Sour Cherry Vareniki. The perfect way to end the night after all the other great foods and vodka that they offer.
12. ACAI
Carioca Bowls
Carioca Bowls just makes eating healthy so easy. Every bowl I've gotten here has been amazing.
13. BAKED
Baker & Spice
From pastries, to tarts to cakes, Baker & Spice has the best baked goods in Portland. I bake a lot so I often refuse to pay for classic baked goods but these classics are out of this world.
